Last updated: 3rd April 2020

Dear Customer,

At Hot Tub Hire Edinburgh we are doing whatever we can to continue to provide the very highest level of customer care and support that we can during this difficult period. Our highest priority is the safety of all our valued customers and colleagues. We recognise the increased uncertainty that coronavirus is causing, and we also know that the Hot Tub Rental Industry has an important role to play in, supporting mental health at reducing the feeling of confinement at home.

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by the Coronavirus outbreak. These are tough, unprecedented times, and the information and guidelines we get from government are changing daily. We are following these guidelines and recommendations closely, as well as implementing our own practices and procedures to reduce risk.

Restrictions of equipment rentals

For the safety of our customers and field-based technicians, Hot Tub Hire Edinburgh reserves the right to terminate any equipment rental forthwith if in the event the following restrictions including but not limited to are not applied or where the safety of our field-based technicians is deemed to be unsafe.

  • Displaying Symptoms / self-isolating – you agree and accept that no member of your household is displaying symptoms of coronavirus or has been self-isolating.

  • Underlying health conditions / Vulnerable / Shielding – Under the current government guidance, you agree and accept that no household member has underlying health conditions, classified as vulnerable or is on the current shielding patients list.

  • Events or Gatherings – You agree not to invite or allow social visitors, such as other friends and family, to enter your home, garden and hot tub as our technicians will only install hot tubs for household members only.

  • Unsecure Private Garden – Hot Tubs will only be installed if it’s your own private secured garden and there’s no chance of coming into close contact with the public.

Infection prevention control

Since 2012, our employees continuously implemented the control of legionella and other infectious agents by maintaining the cleanliness of all parts of our hot tubs and have taken numerous steps to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 from our normal business operations which continuously includes.

  • Complete maintenance control log – Each hot tub undergoes a 30-point maintenance test after each hire which includes the removal and disinfecting of all components which is then electronically recorded using the latest technology.

  • Water treatment programme – Each hot tub is analysed 3 times per day over a 24-hour period to ensure the continued effectiveness and suitability of the current water treatment programme.

  • Sanitisation of equipment – Prior to installation, all our hot tubs are ‘shock dosed’ by our in-house water hygiene technician to achieve a free chlorine level of 50ppm (mg/l) for a minimum of 1 hour.

  • Microbiological monitoring programme – Water from each hot tub is sampled monthly for ACC, coliforms, E coli and P aeruginosa and quarterly for legionella which is then sent to a UKAS accredited laboratory to ensure the continued effectiveness and suitability of our current water treatment programme.

Social Distancing

To reduce our technicians day-to-day contact, we request that all household members including pets remain indoors whilst the installation of the hot tub is being carried out. On completion, the technician will require to demonstrate the required safety procedures including the water treatment programme with one member of the household. The instructions will be provided in compliance with social distancing guidelines with a minimum of 2 meters apart.
